Born March 1, 1905, Bosworth, Missouri.  Education:  University of Oklahoma, 1923–25; University of Missouri, A.B., 1927, A.M., 1929, Ph.D., 1937.

Instructor in History, 1928–29, Roswell, New Mexico, Military Institute; Instructor in History, 1930–31, St. Joseph, Missouri, Junior College; Instructor in History, 1931–36, Wentworth Military Academy Junior College; Instructor in History, Summers, 1931–35, Assistant Professor, 1936—, University of Missouri.

Publications:  The Pioneer Merchant in Mid-America, 1939. Articles in Missouri Historical Review, Mississippi Valley Historical Review, Library Quarterly, Southwestern Social Science Quarterly, Pacific Historical Review, Kansas Historical Quarterly, Bulletin of the Business Historical Society, Agricultural History.
