ROSENBLATT, LOUISE MICHELLE.  Appointed for a historical and critical study of the problem of the function of the writer as shown in the theory and practice of 19th and 20th century British and American authors; tenure, twelve months from August 1, 1942.

Born August 23, 1904, Atlantic City, New Jersey.  Education:  Barnard College, B.A., 1925; University of Grenoble, 1925–26; Columbia University, 1927–28; University of Paris, Docteur de l’Université, 1931. Franco-American Exchange Fellow and Alternate Duror Graduate Fellow, 1925–26, at the University of Grenoble. Barnard College Fellow at the University of Paris, 1926–27 and 1928–29.

Assistant in English, 1927–28, Instructor, 1929–38, Barnard College; Research member, 1935–36, Commission on Human Relations, Progressive Education Association; Assistant Professor of English, 1938—, Brooklyn College. Visiting Professor of English Education, Northwestern University, Summers of 1939 and 1940.
