GEISMAR, MAXWELL DAVID.  Appointed for studies toward an evaluation of the 1920’s in America through certain key writers of the period; tenure, twelve months from September 1, 1942.

Born August 1, 1909, New York City.  Education:  Columbia University, A.B., 1931, M.A., 1932 (Proudfit Fellow); Harvard University (Teaching Fellow), 1932–33.

Member of the staff, Department of Literature, 1934—, Sarah Lawrence College.
