Born April 2, 1900, at Bellevue, Ohio. Education:  Ohio State University, A.B., 1924; Northwestern University, M.Sc., 1925, Ph.D., 1927. National Research Council Fellow at Bureau of Standards, Rockefeller Institute for Medical Research, and Ohio State University, 1927–29.

Instructor in Chemistry, 1929–30, Assistant Professor, 1930–36, Associate Professor, 1936—, Ohio State University.
