Hazlett, Olive C.: Appointed for a study of the arithmetics of linear associative algebras together with their application and interpretation in other lines of mathematics, especially the theory of numbers; tenure, twelve months from September 1, 1928.

Born October 27, 1890, at Cincinnati, Ohio. Education: Radcliffe College, A.B., 1912; University of Chicago, S.M., 1913, Ph.D., 1915. Fellowship in Mathematics, University of Chicago, 1913–25; Fellowship of Boston Branch of the American Association of University Women, 1914–15; Alice Freeman Palmer Fellowship in gift of Wellesley College, 1915–16; awarded this Fellowship again for 1916–17, but resigned; also awarded Alice Freeman Palmer Memorial Fellowship in the gift of the American Association of University Women for 1915–16 and 1916–17, but resigned each time.

Associate in Mathematics, Bryn Mawr College, 1916–18; Assistant Professor of Mathematics, 1918–24, Associate Professor of Mathematics, 1924–25, Mount Holyoke College; Assistant Professor of Mathematics, 1925—, University of Illinois; Associate Editor, Transactions of the American Mathematical Society, 1922—.
