Rachel Youens earned a B.F.A. from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, and an M.F.A. from Brooklyn College.  She currently teaches at the Parsons School of Design in the Art and Design Department.  Her art criticism has been published in artcritical.com, NY Arts Magazine, The Brooklyn Rail, and The Villager.  She was awarded a Pollack-Krasner Foundation grant in 2004, which resulted in the exhibit "Loaves and Fishes," 2006, at Sideshow Gallery, Williamsburg, Brooklyn.  Ms. Youens has attended artist residencies at the Ragdale Foundation, Illinois (1999), and at the Fundacion Valparaiso, Spain (2008), which was supported by a PSC CUNY Professional Development Grant.
