Bufano, Remo:  Appointed to write a comprehensive volume on marionettes, abroad; tenure, six months from June 1, 1929.

Born November 12, 1894, in Italy.

Marionette Productions: In Brock Pemberton’s production of “Puppets,” 1925; première in America of “El Retablo de Maese Pedro,” a marionette opera in which life-size marionettes were used, Town Hall, New York City, under the auspices of the League of Composers, 1925; “El Retablo de Maese Pedro” repeated in 1928 under the same auspices; a series of marionette matinees for children, 1926; “Pinocchio,” using both marionettes and actors on the stage at the same time, 1927; season of Saturday mornings for children and Monday evenings for grown-ups at the Provincetown Playhouse, 1928.
