Robert Bruce Langham III, (b. 1952)  Native Texas photographic artist.  Educated Tyler Public Schools, Tyler Junior College, Sam Houston State University.  First recognized for local landscape work in Blackfork watershed containing “celestial clock.”  Shadows, Moon, blooming trees, flowing water, organizing elements to locate viewer in specific place.  In ’90s “The Blackfork Bestiary”, shamanic series of compelling personable portraits of fauna generated by local ecosystem followed.  Used by Borealis Press, notecards sold nationwide.  “Post Turtle” rippled popular culture.  Shiprock NM next focus in a decades-long visual & spiritual exploration.  After 2000, seduced by shadows in the West. This work was core of Guggenheim submission.  Beloved wife Katie Wintters, (1971-2016), diagnosed, cancer 2013. Studio moved to neighborhood to focus on “kinetic” still life and redefine photographic genre.  “Magic & Logic, Fighting Knives with Flowers, 10 Texas Tornadoes” emerged as “Images never before seen in Nature or Culture.”  Back in the 4-Corners area in 2017,  influenced by writings of Meloy, Childs, Roberts, Lopez, and Berry. Exploration of Sipapus, and pure light commenced.  Motivational teacher.  Classes described as gameshow/revival mashup.  Continued use of film and darkroom.  Rock climber.  Marathoner.  Humor scourge.  Dance Hall fanatic.  Distinguished Rifleman.  Daughter Aliana, 1985.
