GOLDWATER, ROBERT J.  Appointed for a study of the tradition of myth, allegory and imaginative painting and sculpture as it has evolved during the past fifty years; tenure, twelve months from September 1, 1944.

Born November 23, 1907, in New York City. Education:  Columbia University, B.A., 1929; Harvard University, M.A., 1931 (Carnegie Corporation Fellow); New York University, Ph.D., 1937.

Assistant in the Department of Religion, 1929–30, Dartmouth College; Instructor in the History of Art, 1934–39, Lecturer, 1939–42, New York University; Assistant Professor of Art, 1939—, Queens College.
