Mulliken, Robert Sanderson:  Appointed for a study of problems connected with the subject of the formation and dissociation of molecules and the assignment of quantum numbers for electrons in molecules; tenure, six months from March 15, 1930.

Born June 7, 1896, at Newburyport, Massachusetts. Education: Massachusetts Institute of Technology, B. S., 1917; University of Chicago, Ph. D., 1921. National Research Fellow, University of Chicago and Harvard University, 1921–25.

Assistant Professor of Physics, 1926–28, New York University; Associate Professor of Physics, 1928—, University of Chicago.
