SINGER, ROLF.  Appointed for studies of the mycological flora of subtropical America; tenure, twelve months from July 1, 1942.

Born June 23, 1906, in Germany.  Education:  University of Munich, 1925–27; University of Vienna, Ph.D., 1931; Academy of Sciences of the U. S. S. R., Doctor of Biology, 1940.

Member of two expeditions to the Caucasus Mountains, 1928–29, for the Academy of Science of Vienna; member of two expeditions to the Pyrenees, 1934, for the Junta de Ciènces Naturals, Barcelona; member of expedition to the Altai Mountains, 1937, for the Academy of Science, Botanical Institute, Leningrad.  Assistant Professor, 1934-35, University of Barcelona; Senior Scientific Expert, 1935–40, Academy of Science of the U. S. S. R., Botanical Institute; Research Associate, 1941—, Farlow Herbarium, Harvard University.
