GRACE, VIRGINIA RANDOLPH:  Appointed for a study of the dates and places of manufacture of earthenware jars in the Mediterranean basin during the period of classical antiquity as the basis for a history of the commerce of the region during that period; tenure, twelve months from August 1, 1938.

Born January 9, 1901, in New York City.  Education:  Bryn Mawr College, B.A., 1922, M.A., 1929, Ph.D., 1934 (Fanny Bullock Workman European Fellowship, 1930–31); American School of Classical Studies, Athens, 1927–28, 1930–31.

Research in the field of classical archaeology, 1932–37.

Publications:  Articles in Journal of Hellenic Studies, Hesperia.
