Born October 4, 1897, at Chicago, Illinois. Education:  University of Chicago, S.B., 1920, M.S., 1925, Ph.D., 1928; The Young Men’s Christian Association College, Diploma, 1919, B.P.E., 1921, M.P.E., 1926.

Instructor in Biological Sciences, 1920–28, Professor of Physiology, 1928—, The Young Men’s Christian Association College, Chicago. Also Director of The Young Men’s Christian Association Laboratory for Physiologic Research in Physical Education.
