GODDARD, DAVID R.  Appointed for a spectrophotometric study of the respiratory enzymes of higher plants, particularly of the cytochrome system; tenure, twelve months from September 1, 1942.

Born January 3, 1908, Carmel, California.  Education:  University of California, A.B., 1929, M.A., 1930, Ph.D., 1933 (Fellow in Botany, 1930–32); National Research Council Fellow, Rockefeller Institute for Medical Research, 1933–35.

Instructor in Botany, 1935–38, Assistant Professor, 1938–41, Associate Professor, 1941—, University of Rochester.
