WILLIAMS, DONALD CARY:  Appointed for the preparation of an analysis and theory of knowledge, realistic and intellectualistic, systematically describing the constituents of knowledge, its structure, and the grounds and extent of its validity; tenure, twelve months from February 1, 1938.

Born May 28, 1899, at Crows Landing, California. Education:  Occidental College, A.B., 1923; Harvard University, M.A., 1925, Ph.D., 1928 (Sheldon Travelling Fellow, 1928–29); University of California, 1925–27.

Instructor in English, 1924–25, Occidental College; Instructor and Tutor in Philosophy, 1929–30, Harvard University; Instructor in Philosophy, 1930–31, Assistant Professor, 1931—, Chairman of the Department, 1935—, University of California at Los Angeles.
