Stouffer, Ellis Bagley: Appointed for a comparative study of three general methods of investigation in the field of projective differential geometry, and also research into certain problems in the same field, principally in Italy; tenure, ten months from August 1, 1926.

Born November 7, 1884, at Melbourne, Iowa. Education: Drake University, B.S., 1907, University of Illinois, Ph.D., 1911, (Fellowships in Mathematics).

Instructor in Mathematics, Drake University, 1907–08; Instructor in Mathematics, University of Illinois, 1911–14; Assistant Professor of Mathematics, 1914–17, Associate Professor, 1917–21, Professor, 1921—, and Dean of the Graduate School, 1922—, University of Kansas. Associate editor of the Transactions of the American Mathematical Society, 1925—.
