OSGOOD, ERNEST STAPLES:  Appointed for the preparation of a book on Montana, as a study of the evolution of a typical for a western state; tenure, twelve months from September 1, 1936.

Born October 29, 1888, at Lynn, Massachusetts.  Education:  Dartmouth College, A.B., 1912; University of Wisconsin, Ph.D., 1927.

Assistant in History, 1924–26, University of Wisconsin; Instructor in History, 1927–29, Assistant Professor, 1929—, University of Minnesota.

Publications:  The Day of the Cattleman, 1928. Articles in Agricultural History.
