Knight, Frank Hyneman:  Appointed to make a study of movements in economic and social thought, primarily in German-speaking Europe, secondarily in Italy, in relation to the British classical economics and to the current development of institutional and statistical economics in America; tenure, six months from March 15, 1930.

Born November 7, 1885, in McLean County, Illinois. Education: Milligan College, Ph.B., 1911; University of Tennessee, M.S. and A.M., 1913; Cornell University, Ph.D., 1916.

Instructor in Economics, 1916–17, Cornell University; Instructor in Economics, 1917–19, University of Chicago; Associate Professor and Professor of Economics, 1919–27, University of Iowa; Professor of Economics, 1927—, University of Chicago.
