VOKES, HAROLD ERNEST:  Appointed for a study, in cooperation with the American University at Beirut, of the stratigraphy and invertebrate paleontology of the Lebanon Mountains; tenure, six months from April 27, 1940.

Born June 27, 1908, in Canada.  Education:  Occidental College, A.B., 1931, University of California, Ph.D., 1935; Yale University, 1935–36.

Assistant Geologist, 1937, Illinois State Geological Survey; Assistant in Geology and Invertebrate Paleontology, 1937, Assistant Curator of Invertebrate Paleontology, 1938—, American Museum of Natural History.
