Kali Fajardo-Anstine is the author of the novel Woman of Light and the widely acclaimed short story collection Sabrina & Corina, a finalist for the 2019 National Book Award and winner of an American Book Award.
Her work has been nominated for many prizes and honors, including the PEN/Bingham Prize, the Carol Shields Prize, the Story Prize, the Saroyan International Prize, the Joyce Carol Oates Literary Prize, the Clark Prize, and the VCU Cabell First Novelist Award. In 2021, she received the Addison M. Metcalf Award from the American Academy of Arts and Letters. She is the 2022 – 2024 Endowed Chair in Creative Writing at Texas State University. Fajardo-Anstine is from Denver, Colorado.
