Margaret Honda works in sculpture and film, questioning the status of materials and the malleability of production protocols. She has had one-person exhibitions at institutions including Künstlerhaus Bremen, KW Institute for Contemporary Art, Berlin, and the Carnegie Museum of Art, and a forthcoming exhibition at the Art Institute of Chicago will take place in 2023. Honda has participated in recent group exhibitions at the Hammer Museum, Los Angeles; Institute of Contemporary Art, Miami; Fluentum, Berlin; and Kunstverein Leipzig. Her films have been selected for the Berlin International Film Festival, Courtesane Festival, and Toronto International Film Festival, and have been presented in one-person screenings at REDCAT, Los Angeles, Harvard Film Archive, and Centre Pompidou, Paris. She has received an Anonymous Was A Woman award and fellowships from the California Community Foundation and MacDowell.
