Mark D. Jordan is R. R. Niebuhr Professor at Harvard Divinity School. He taught earlier at the University of Notre Dame and Emory University. Mr. Jordan is the author of a number of books, including The Invention of Sodomy in Christian Theology (1997); The Ethics of Sex (2001); Telling Truths in Church: Scandal, Flesh, and Christian Speech (2003); and Rewritten Theology: Aquinas after His Readers (2006). He has recently completed a rhetorical study of American church debates over homosexuality.
