McBRIDE, ROBERT GUYN:  Appointed for creative work in musical composition; tenure, twelve months from October 1, 1937.

Born February 20, 1911, at Tucson, Arizona.  Education:  University of Arizona, B. Mus., 1933, M. Mus., 1935.

Member of the Faculty, 1935—, Bennington College.

Principal compositions: Prelude to a Tragedy, performed by the New York Philharmonic Orchestra, 1935, and by the San Francisco WPA Orchestra, 1936; Fugue for String Quartet performed at the Contemporary American Music Festival of Westminster Choir School, Princeton, New Jersey, 1936, and at Yaddo, Saratoga Springs, New York, 1936; Show Piece, music for a ballet, performed by the Ballet Caravan, 1937.
