BRODE, ROBERT BIGHAM:  Appointed for research in the field of collisions of electrons with atoms, chiefly at the Cavendish Laboratory of the University of Cambridge; tenure, twelve months from July 15, 1934.

Born June 12, 1900, at Walla Walla, Washington. Education:  Whitman College, B.Sc., 1921; California Institute of Technology, Ph.D., 1924; University of Oxford, Rhodes Scholar-at-Large (Oriel College), 1924–25. National Research Fellow, University of Göttingen, 1925–26, Princeton University, 1926–27.

Teaching Fellow in Physics, 1921–24, California Institute of Technology; Assistant Professor of Physics, 1927–30, Associate Professor, 1930–32, Professor, 1932—, University of California; Visiting Associate Professor, 1932, Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
