Emerson, Alfred Edwards: Appointed for certain investigations concerned with the problem of the ontogenetic and phylogenetic origin of the castes of termites, principally with Dr. Yngve Sjöstedt, at the Naturhistoriska Riksmuseet, with Dr. Nils Holmgren, at the Högskolas Zootomiska Institut, in Stockholm, Sweden, and with Dr. F. Silvestri, at the R. Laboratorio di Entomologia Agraria, in Portici, Italy; tenure, twelve months from September 1, 1926.

Born December 31, 1896, at Ithaca, New York. Education: Cornell University, B.S., 1918, M.A., 1920, Ph.D., 1925.
