WILSON, ELLIS.  Appointed for creative work in painting; tenure, twelve months from June 1, 1944.

Born April 30, 1900, Mayfield, Kentucky. Education:  Kentucky State Normal School, Frankfort, 1916–18. Art Institute of Chicago, 1919–23.

Exhibited at Art Institute of Chicago, Harmon Foundation, Dillard University, Howard University, Detroit Institute of Arts, Negro Exposition at Chicago, Brown University, Independents Salon, College Art Association, New York Public Library, Harlem Art Centre, Urban League, New York World’s Fair, Riverside Museum, National Academy of Design, Freedom House, Atlanta University, Artists Union at Rockefeller Centre. Commissioned to execute a triptych for the Citizens Committee for the Army and Navy, 1944.
