BERGSTROM, FRANCIS WILLIAM:  Appointed for a study of the methods used in certain European institutions for the investigation of heterocyclic compounds containing nitrogen; tenure, five and one-half months from July 1, 1934.

Born January 10, 1897, at Bloomington, Indiana. Education:  Stanford University, A.B., 1918; Ch.E., 1919, Ph.D., 1922. National Research Fellow, Stanford University, Clark University and Brown University, 1922–25.

Instructor of Chemistry, 1925–28, Assistant Professor, 1928–34, Associate Professor, 1934—, Stanford University.
