Born December 26, 1909, at Indianapolis, Indiana. Education:  Princeton University, A.B., 1931; John Herron Art School, 1925, 1926.

Vice-president and Technical Director, 1930–31, Princeton University Triangle Club; Art Director, 1929–30, President, 1930–31, Théâtre Intime, Princeton. Scenic Director, 1931–32, The Theatre Unit, Inc.; Art Assistant, 1932, Radio City Theatres Corporation; Stage Manager, 1933, The Theatre Guild, Inc.; Art Director, 1933, The Surry Players; Art and Technical Director, 1933, for Arthur J. Beckhard.
