Born September 1, 1893, in Japan. Education: Los Angeles School of Arts and Design, 1908–10; National Academy of Design, 1912–13; Independent School of Art, 1914–16; Art Students League, 1916–20.

Instructor, 1933–34, Art Students League, New York City.

Awarded Honorable Mention, Carnegie International, 1931; Temple Gold Medal, Pennsylvania Academy, 1934; Los Angeles Museum Prize, 1934.
