Born August 23, 1887, at Viborg, South Dakota. Education: Yankton College, B.A., 1910; University of Wisconsin, M.A., 1915, Ph.D., 1918.

Assistant in Economics, University of Wisconsin, 1915–1916; Instructor in Economics, Brown University, 1916–1919; Associate Professor of Economics, 1919–1923, Professor of Economics, 1923—, University of Minnesota.
