Fellow: Awarded 2022
Field of Study: Fine Arts

Competition: US & Canada

Anna Craycroft makes large-scale multipart installations. Her exhibitions interweave art, craft, and technology to give a physical form to pedagogical, psychological, and political inquiries. The site specificity and modularity of Craycroft’s work celebrates the ethos of interdependency and fluidity championed by queer theory and feminism.

In September 2022 Craycroft will premiere her first large-scale work for theater, with EMPAC at the Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in Troy, NY. Craycroft has had solo exhibitions with major institutions including the New Museum, New York; PICA, Portland, OR; the Blanton Museum of Art, Austin; and Ben Maltz Gallery, Otis College of Art and Design, Los Angeles. Her work has also been exhibited at REDCAT Gallery, Los Angeles; Fundació Joan Miró, Barcelona; ICA Boston; Palais de Tokyo, Paris; and MoMA PS1, New York. She has been commissioned for public sculptures by institutions including deCordova Sculpture Park and Museum, Lincoln, MA; Art in General, New York; Socrates Sculpture Park, New York; LMCC, NY; and Den Haag Sculptuur, Netherlands.
