CHRISTY, ARTHUR EDWARD:  Appointed for the preparation of a book, in the main a survey of the consequences, primarily for Western Europe, of the process by which the world has become Europeanized; to be based upon the notes and lectures of the late Professor William R. Shepherd; tenure, twelve months from September 1, 1935.

Born December 17, 1899, in China. Education:  Wheaton College, A.B., 1922; University of Chicago, Summer, 1922; Columbia University, A.M., 1925, Ph.D., 1932.
