FREDENTHAL, DAVID:  Appointed for creative work in painting; tenure, twelve months form September 1, 1938.

Born April 27, 1914, at Detroit, Michigan.  Education:  Cranbrook Academy of Art, 1935–38; Colorado Springs Fine Arts Center, Summer, 1936. Awarded fellowship for foreign travel and study, Museum of Modern Art, 1935.

One man show, Detroit Artists Market, 1934; University of Michigan, 1935. Exhibited at Detroit Institute of Arts, Michigan Artists Exhibition, Musée du Jeu de Paume (Paris). Awarded first watercolor prize, Michigan Artists Exhibition, 1936. Fresco for Naval Armory, Detroit, executed under Federal Art Project, 1937. Represented in the permanent collections of the Addison Gallery, Milwaukee Art Institute, Flint Art Institute, Cranbrook Academy of Art.
