STAUFFER, DONALD ALFRED:  Appointed for the gathering of materials for a history of English biography and autobiography in the 18^th century; tenure, eight months from February 1, 1937.

Born July 4, 1902, at Denver, Colorado. Education:  University of Colorado, 1918–19; Princeton University, A.B., 1923, A.M., 1924 (Scribner Fellow, 1923–24); University of Oxford, D.Phil., 1928 (Rhodes Scholar, Merton College).

Instructor in English, 1927–31, Assistant Professor, 1931—, Princeton University.
