MOSSNER, ERNEST CAMPBELL:  Appointed for studies of the life and works of David Hume, in particular his contributions to the history of thought; tenure, twelve months from June 1, 1939.

Born October 22, 1907, in New York City.  Education:  College of the City of New York, B.A., 1929; Columbia University, M.A., 1930, Ph.D., 1936 (Columbia University Fellow, 1934–35).

Fellow in English, 1929–30, Tutor, 1930–34, Instructor, 1935–37, College of the City of New York; Associate Professor of English, 1937—, Syracuse University.
