Gibson, George Ernest: Appointed for a theoretical and experimental study of certain problems in atomic and molecular physics bearing on chemistry, in particular in the field of band spectra, principally at the University of Göttingen, Germany; tenure, twelve months from July 1, 1927.

Born November 9, 1884, at Edinburgh, Scotland. Education: University of Edinburgh, B.Sc., 1906; University of Breslau, Ph.D., 1911; Vans Dunlop Scholar, University of Edinburgh, 1906–09; Carnegie Research Fellow, Breslau, 1909–11.
