KIRBY, HAROLD, JR.:  Appointed for studies chiefly in Africa of the Protozoa living in termites, for the purpose of contributing toward a solution of problems of phylogeny and taxonomy in host-parasite relationships and of comparative cytology; tenure, twelve months from July 1, 1934.

Born February 2, 1900, in Nova Scotia.  Education: Emory University, B.S., 1922; University of California, M.A., 1923, Ph.D., 1925.

Instructor in Biology, 1925–28, Yale University; Assistant Professor of Zoölogy, 1928–31, Associate Professor, 1931—, University of California.

Publications: Syllabus in Protozoology, 1929, revised, 1933. Contributor to Problems and Methods of Research in Protozoology, 1930, and Termites and Termite Control, 1934.
