MULLER, HERMANN JOSEPH:  Appointed for the investigation of problems concerning the mechanism of mutation and evolution, and the nature of the gene, in connection with European investigators, with particular reference to certain results concerning mutation recently obtained by them, and related results obtained by Dr. Muller; tenure, twelve months from September 1, 1932.

Born December 21, 1890, in New York City. Education: Columbia University, B.A., 1907, M.A., 1911, Ph.D., 1915; Cornell Medical College, 1911-12.

Instructor in Biology, 1915–18, Rice Institute; Instructor in Zoology, 1918–20, Columbia University; Associate Professor of Zoology, 1920–25, Professor, 1925—, University of Texas; University of Chicago Summer School, 1925.
