Jack Marshall has been appointed for poetry.  His publications include Arriving on the Playing Fields of Paradise (Jazz Press, 1984) and Gorgeous Chaos: New & Selected Poems, 1965-2001 (Coffee House Press, 2005), both of which received  Bay Area Book Reviewers awards for poetry; Sesame (Coffee House Press, 1994), honored with the PEN Center West Award for poetry; the memoir From Baghdad to Brooklyn: Growing Up in a Jewish Arabic Family in Midcentury America (Coffee House Press, 2005); and, most recently, The Steel Veil (Coffee House Press, 2008).

Mr. Marshall was born in Brooklyn, New York, and currently resides in the San Francisco Bay Area.
