James Siena is a New York based artist who makes complex rule-and-procedure based works. He works in painting, drawing, printmaking, and sculpture. He teaches in the MFA Program at the School of Visual Arts, and is a member of the National Academy of Design and the Corporation of Yaddo. His work is held in the collections of the Hammer Museum at UCLA, the Johnson Museum at Cornell University, the Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York, the Milwaukee Museum, Wisconsin, the Museum of Modern Art, New York, the Whitney Museum of American Art, New York, the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art, and the Yale University Art Gallery, New Haven, among others.
