CAMPBELL, MARIE.  Appointed for creative writing, using southern folk materials; tenure, twelve months from June 15, 1944.

Born February 17, 1907, Tamms, Illinois. Education:  Southern Illinois Teachers College, A.B., 1932; George Peabody College, M.A., 1937.

High School Teacher of English, 1930—40; Assistant Professor of English, 1940—, West Georgia College.

Publications:  Cloud Walking, 1942. Contributor to Eve’s Stepchildren, 1942. Articles in Southern Literary Messenger, Journal of American Folklore, Southern Folklore Quarterly, American Cookery, Childhood Education, School Activities, Tennessee Folklore Bulletin.
