PONTIS VIDELA, RAFAEL EDMUNDO.  Appointed for cytological and microchemical studies of host plants infected with spotted wilt; tenure, twelve months from August 1, 1942.

Born January 11, 1911, Mendoza, Argentina.  Education:  University of Buenos Aires, Agricultural Engineer, 1933.

Head of the Laboratory of Plant Pathology of Mendosa, 1935—, Federal Department of Agriculture; Professor of Plant Pathology in the Agriculture School of San Juan, Argentina, 1935. Awarded research prize of Argentine National Commission of Culture, 1939. Fellow of the Argentine Association for Progress in the Sciences, at the University of California, 1941–42.
