GAVIOLA, RAMÓN ENRIQUE:  Appointed for studies in the field of physical chemistry, especially photochemistry, at the California Institute of Technology; tenure, twelve months from October 1, 1934.

Born August 31, 1900, at Mendoza, Argentina. Education:  Colegio Nacional, Bachiller, 1916; University of La Plata, Agrimensor, 1921; University of Göttingen, 1922–23; University of Berlin, Ph.D., 1926; Johns Hopkins University, 1927–28 (Fellow of the Rockefeller Foundation).

Assistant Physicist, 1928–29, Carnegie Institution of Washington; Investigator, University of La Plata, and Professor of Physics, Colegio Nacional,  1929–30; Professor of Physical Chemistry and Mathematical Physics, 1930—, University of Buenos Aires.
