Rebecca Donner’s third book, All the Frequent Troubles of Our Days, is a bold fusion of biography, espionage thriller, and scholarly detective story that won the National Book Critics Circle Award for Biography and the PEN/Jacqueline Bograd Weld Award. All the Frequent Troubles of Our Days was a New York Times Notable Book, a New York Times Editors’ Choice, and a New York Times Critics’ Top Book of 2021; it was also named one of the best books of the year by the Wall Street Journal, Time Magazine, and The Economist.

Donner is the recipient of a 2018-19 fellowship at the Leon Levy Center for Biography, is a two-time Yaddo fellow, and has twice been awarded fellowships by Ucross Foundation. Donner’s other books include two critically acclaimed works of fiction: Sunset Terrace, a novel about a community of latchkey kids in a government-subsidized housing complex, and Burnout, a graphic novel about ecoterrorism.
