BRAUER, RICHARD DAGOBERT:  Appointed for studies in the field of algebra, with special reference to the theory of groups of finite order and their characters; tenure, twelve months from July 1, 1941.

Born February 10, 1901, in Germany.  Education:  Universities of Berlin and Freiburg, 1920; University of Berlin, Ph.D., 1925.

Member of the Faculty, 1927–33, University of Königsburg; Visiting Professor of Mathematics, 1933–34, University of Kentucky; Assistant, 1934–35, Institute for Advanced Study; Assistant Professor of Mathematics, 1937—, University of Toronto; Visiting Lecturer, 1940–41, University of Wisconsin.
