SMITH, ROBERT CHESTER:  Appointed for the preparation of a history of the fine arts in Brazil; tenure, twelve months from the Spring of 1941.

Born February 26, 1912, at Cranford, New Jersey.  Education:  Harvard University, A.B., 1933, M.A., 1934, Ph.D., 1936 (Sachs Travelling Fellow, 1934–35).

Associate in Art, 1937–39, University of Illinois; Assistant Director, 1939—, Hispanic Foundation, Library of Congress.
