DOW, STERLING:  Appointed for studies of Athenian inscriptions, especially in relation to the new documents from the American excavations of the Agora, by the use of newly developed criteria for dating, in Athens; tenure, twelve months from September 15, 1934.

Born November 19, 1903, at Portland, Maine. Education: Harvard University, A.B., 1925, A.M., 1928 (Rogers Fellow, 1931–32; Sheldon Fellow, 1932–34); University of Cambridge, Fiske Scholar (Trinity College), 1925–26.

Assistant in History, 1927–31, Harvard College.

Publications: Articles in Harvard Studies in Classical Philology, American Journal of Archeology, Hesperia, Classical Philology.
