ZACHARIASEN, WILLIAM HOULDER:  Appointed for a study of the constitution of the borates by methods of crystal analysis, at the Universities of Göttingen and Manchester; tenure, nine months from April 1, 1935.

Born February 15, 1906, in Norway. Education:  Oslo Katedral, B.A., 1921; Oslo University, M.Sc., Mineralogy, 1924, M.Sc., Mathematics, 1926, Ph.D., 1928. Fellow of the International Education Board at the University of Manchester, 1928–29.

Assistant Professor of Crystallography, 1928–30, Oslo University; Assistant Professor of Physics, 1930—, University of Chicago.
