Watson, William Weldon: Appointed for the study of molecular spectra under Professors Franck of Göttingen and Sommerfeld of Munich, with a view to learning more about the structure of molecules and the nature of chemical reactions in gases; tenure, twelve months from September 1, 1928.

Born September 14, 1899, at Eveleth, Minnesota. Education: University of Chicago, S.B., 1920, M.S., 1922, Ph.D., 1924.
